Bill focuses his practice in estate planning, business succession planning and trust and estate administration.  He advises his clients on asset protection and tax-efficient transfers of wealth.  He is proficient in preparing wills, powers of attorney, advance directives for health and all types of trusts.  He counsels executors and trustees through the administration of estates and trusts preparing estate and inheritance tax returns, formal and informal accountings and settlement agreements.

Bill is experienced in representing families with special needs including guardianships, the preparation of third-party funded and first-party funded supplemental needs trusts and disability benefit planning with the social security administration and other benefit providers.

He represents small businesses with formation, complex transactions and business succession planning.  Bill also represents all types of tax-exempt entities from private foundations to public charities in filings before the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies and the preparation of governance documents and policies to retain tax-exempt status.

He is a published author and a frequent lecturer on various topics including estate and income tax-efficient estate planning and estate planning for families with special needs.Prior to joining Berkowitz Lichtstein in 2019, Bill practiced at a large, regional law firm.
